Our story
I was on a flight from Pittsburgh to Phoenix in 2019 when we had a layover in Denver. One of the other passengers was irritated and I asked him what the problem was. He said, “look at the line over there at Starbucks, then look at the line at Caribou and McDonalds. There is no way I could make this flight if I try to get a cup of coffee. I don’t want anything fancy, I just want a plain damn cup of coffee.” He was right, the line for the frou-frou drinks would have ended any chance he had of making the flight. That got me thinking, weren’t there coffee vending machines at one point? Covid would end any grand plans I had and I shelved the idea. In July of 2022 I was in Chicago Midway and at 5:30 on a Thursday afternoon, nearly every restaurant was closed. When I asked what the problem was, I was told they couldn’t find anyone to work the shifts, so they closed. I asked what would happen if someone wanted a plain cup of coffee and the answer was obvious, I wouldn’t get one. That was when I knew it was time to break out that idea I had years before. To that frustrated passenger in Denver I say, “here is your Plane Cup of Coffee, sorry it’s late.”
Our ingredients
We worked with Orlando Coffee Roasters to develop our unique blend of coffee that will let you know that while our name is Plane Cup of Coffee, the taste is anything but a plain cup of coffee.
